UAMS is an academic health center with a variety of medical and healthcare-related undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degree programs, and is part of an Arkansas-wide network of postsecondary education institutions of the University of Arkansas System. Their goal is to improve healthcare in the Arkansas area through educating current and future health professionals. Students are able to participate in any of the 40+ academic, professional, institutional, and service organizations that UAMS offers.
The Master of Nursing Science degree program at UAMS is designed for RNs to continue their studies at the doctoral level, and to become advanced practice registered nurses in the area of their degree specialization. Students can specialize in Adult-Gero, Psychiatric, FNP, Pediatric, and Administration. This program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
